Christopher A. Oliver

Advisory Board 

Chris is a Vice President of Corporate Strategy for IBM’s Corporate Strategy Group. In that role, Chris engages with senior leaders across IBM business units to identify and frame strategic issues, conduct fact-based analyses and develop recommendations to achieve meaningful and tangible business impact. In certain instances, Chris works with IBM leadership to operationalize key recommendations. The breadth and scope of the work covers all areas of the IBM organization including projects that he’s led in the areas of Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Storage, Edge Computing, Partner Channels and Future of Work.

Prior to his current role with IBM, Chris was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Presidio. In that role he was responsible for identifying, investigating, and evaluating acquisition opportunities across existing and future markets to drive Presidio's mid and long-range strategic goals. The role also included P&L ownership for two emerging business units – Cyber Security and the Internet of Things Group.

And before Presidio, Chris was the Director of Strategy & Business Development for HP Technology Consulting where he was tasked with defining near, mid and long-term strategies to accelerate the growth of HP’s global consulting business (organic and inorganic).

​

Chris chairs the board of a small non-profit, Community of Unity, focused on youth development.  He resides with his wife and two children in New York City where he was born.

 

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Brown University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Yale University.
